Waiting for Ann and Nancy

Watching Cheap Trick - next up Joan Jett and then Heart....great light show so far already. Not enough drums or bass though  (aren't we the worse critics?)

Seriously?  I've never been to a large scale show where the bass wasn't overcooked.  I can look out the window at work and see Shoreline Amphitheater and we get subjected to soundchecks all the time.  Boom, boom, boom.  And John Lee is nowhere to be found.  ;)

Great concert line up though.  From what I've heard on-line, Ann's still got it.

I saw Heart in February this year at a benefit concert at the St. Louis Fox Theater. I can definitely say that Nancy still has a great voice! You can tell she is struggling to stay on her feet for the whole concert though. If they come to your town you should go see them while you can!

I saw Heart about 11 years ago in CA and they were great. Ann looked really healthy and in good shape ....

On our way home- wow ... I LOVE that woman or should I say those women. Amazing voice for a mature woman.  Nancy can still play. Everything played in the original key it seemed-maybe detuned to Eb but  no real cheats... A couple of tribute songs from Led Zep to finish the night... One beer at $11.50.....but still happy - such a great night!...(drums were a bit low again- sheesh!)

But was the drum level true to the original songs?

Back then the drums were not as predominate as today.

Hey Guys,

I provided full production for them last year and they were great. It was a corporate event and was awesome to see them in an intimate setting. They did all their hits and threw in some Zeppelin and Neil Young covers, they sounded as good as ever. They had a great crew too.

We could hardly hear the snare in particular - definitely too low in the mix.
We missed the songs being 'driven' especially at crescendos.
