That's a lot of weight to have that high.

Yeh 250lb  is a lot of weight. but it is still doable.

a typical 4 cab small format line array is also around that weight.

Very true but the LA's I've seen have been sitting on the subs and not high enough.

Maybe an outrigger to keep it from falling forwards or backwards. That would be my concern.

I don't think the pole cups are rated for, or capable of, supporting that weight.

I can also see the subs toppling over in any sort of breeze.

it all depends on the material and design of the Pole cup.

In reality the Danley Th118 does not have pole mount cups. i just use it for a design concept.

i'm not a mechanical engineer, but i still think that it could support 250lb.

I would be far more comfortable using something like a Sumner Eventor lift.
Designed and rated for just such an application.

You can order them with pole cups. It's an option. I've never ordered them with cups so I can't say whether they're metal or plastic. Either way, I wouldn't be comfortable with that much weight on them.

Forget about trashing a speaker, my concern would be for the person(s) who may get hurt if it fell.

They are metal.  But I am not sure about the weight capability.

I absolutely would not trust any commercial pole cups with that kind of weight, nor any of the poles that fit in them. The SH96HO is a big box. Any kind of wobble that gets it off balance would put a tremendous load on a center bearing support.

If you're going to haul the gear that it would take to get it raised and mounted to a structure like that, you might as well just take a proper lift or scaffold to hold it safely in a proven way. I can tell you it takes 4 strong guys imo to lift one safely atop 3 TH118s.

I can put one on top of 4 Th118s with only 1 other decent helper.

And I am old and don't do this very much anymore and am out of shape.

The trick is to work smarter-not harder.

First you stack up 3 Th118s (laying on their side).  That is quick and easy.

Then get 2 decent sized roadcases and put them in front or behind the stack.

Put the 4th TH118 on the road cases.  Then one person stands on either side of it and puts it on top of the 3 already stacked up.

Then put the SH96HO on the road cases and do the same thing.

Of course it is advisable to fly from a hoist, but when that is not available, you do "partial stacks" and it is not to bad.
