I randomly ran into this, it's good enough for Patti Labelle and it "climax's" at 126db, lol

http://www.fohonline.com/news/14778-patti-labelle-performs-on-turntable-stage-with-eaw-redline-monitor-system.html

We supplied an EAW SM500 rig for Patti Labelle a few months back. Reuben the ME is one of the best, classiest ME's I've had the pleasure of teching for. It was not a quiet stage, but no way 126db was ever hit. Very reasonable band volume, despite 16 wedges on stage plus 650's as side fills.

I haven't heard the RL speakers, but if Reuben was good with them they can't be all that bad...

.....aaaand for those keeping score, we have yet to hear from anyone who actually OWNS these boxes

I'd say this says a lot.

The Dante integration is nice. Other than that I don't see anything ground breaking.

I think it is telling and interesting that this appears to be a VERY similar product line to the Redline that was released a year or so ago. I feel like that says something about Redline for sure

What exactly is similar except that both series feature powered boxes?

Same "Dyn-Q and focusing", similar power specs in the trap boxes. New ones offer Dante but upon a glance at the product pages they look like very similar products. I haven't studied them in great depth, but as a causal glancer of all pro audio products nothing other than Dante jumped out at me quickly as being very different than the Redline series. Feel free to point the major differences out. (Obviously the LA boxes)

Fair enough. I will admit, I have always had some trouble figuring out what fits where in their product lines. As I scroll through their tour sound section on the website it is still not clear to me really. Probably just me.

My point was really that the trap boxes are very similar spec-wise. Enough to make me wonder why both would exist in the product line. Dante is fine, interesting addition. Seems like they should have skipped the Redline and just released these. Or price the Redline more on par with the high end MI gear that they more seem to be in line with. Redline seems a good 40% or so more money than competitor's products. Though I admittedly haven't been sitting around studying this, just basic observations.

I am always amazed when I still see the KF850/650 on there. Would it not help some of the stigma behind EAW in 2016 to perhaps "modernize" their product line by omitting the units that have been around for literally decades. Yes, still a totally usable product, but who is buying those new?
