Sennheiser IEM SR300 G2 - Level difference
« on: December 26, 2015, 04:06:51 AM »

Hello,

I own 5 pieces Sennheiser In Ear Monitor transmitters, type SR300 G2.
These IEM transmitters were obtained second hand from different sellers.

When I feed these transmitters with the same signal, I notice 2 of the transmitters have a different signal level (about 9dB lower) comparing to the other 3 pieces, reading the level on the level-meter on the LCD screen of the transmitters.
I also notice with the 2 IEM transmitters, which give another signal level, there is in the menu an extra text line added, which says  "Softw-rev NET.201". This text line does not exist in the menu of the other transmitters.

Does somebody have an idea if this text line has something to do with the different signal level?
Are these transmitters of an other generation? Or do they have another software?

I've searched the internet already, but I don't find any information about this.

Thanks!

Best regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,
Have you checked the "Input Sensitivity" setting in the menu. This must be the same for all units to show the same input level.
Best regards,
Ike

Hello Ike,

Yes, yes, the level settings are the same. For example, both set at -16dB.
All the settings are also the same.

If I recall, with the G2 IEMs there were two different input sensitivities.

Check the serial numbers and see if one starts with a 1 and the other a 3.  There was a 10db difference in the inputs.

I had run into this a few times.
