When my parents were first married, Mom had to wash clothes by hand. She told Dad she wanted a washer for Christmas. This is what she found in a jewelry box on Christmas morning...

When I was first married I found a washing machine at the land fill that had been in a fire.  It worked fine but the case was stained by the smoke.  I had the trailer hooked up so home it went.  the following week I found a dryer and a motor for the dryer.
$30 total investment

Both the wife and I thought they were a lot better then a laundromat
