Really?
He must of had a special ed class build mine. Have you opened them up?
He does use Hubble parts though.

I just got the boxes, outlets and the strain reliefs from them. I wired them up myself.

I'm very pleased with them

I didn't want to DIY anything on this...so, is their quality suspect?

Does anybody know if these are available with Australian AC sockets?

Whirlwind makes some nice metal stringers with powercons in/out. CBI has hard rubber quads with powercons in/out.

I think I'm 900% sure that not only does that CBI box appear to be the OA WINDSOR box that Ken used to offer (and I own 24 or so of) but I even  think they used the same photo from their website?

There was a thread a while back that had some nifty cord sets with molded double or quads ( I can't remember) every 5 or 6 ft. I think there was a power indicator at each too so you could find it in the dark. My search skills seem to not be up to the task tonight.

I have a stringer with quad boxes. I can put either 1 or 2 20 amp circuits through it. I prefer to use that with short iec power cables for the speakers over Siamese twin power/signal cables.

It seems to be fairly rare that I am distributing power and signal from the same place.

I've tried it both ways and feel it's much faster to use Siamese cables and just sit a power tap next to the stagebox or mixer  (depending how I'm set up) and plug everything in at the same time. There has to be power available where you're plugging the female end in anyway, unless you're still using analog snakes.

This is what I do.
I have a L14/30 power breakout box next to the source of the monitor audio.
If I have to run an XLR from the mixer might as well be a dual cable.
In my case, the RCF monitors have a power and audio link output so a couple of short dual cables are available for linking.

Lex products makes several stringers but they don't have quads or triple taps.  They are easy to add though...

For a lower gauge wire check out LynTec...

We use the lex stringers.  We generally run two on top of eachother.  One just is for monitors one is for band things.

I found an easy option....go to Menards (Home imp. store) around xmas...for less than $20 they sell a heavy duty 25 foot cord -  m at on end, f at the other with individual plug ins every 8 feet...thick cable, made for outdoors...with 2 or 3 of then I can encircle the stage area-great for when I'm running powered monitors... ...They aren't usually out on shelves during the year, just around the holidays, so you may have to ask (they're dark green)
