What is the model of this microphone?
« on: August 09, 2015, 12:39:03 PM »

I have been required to have this exact type and look of the microphone from this Youtube video for the show:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptkS3gqCYzw

I tried to find it out myself but couldn't find any. Does anyone have any clue or brand/model of this mic?

Thanks,

Schoeps Colette or CCM

I thought Schoeps does only Nextel color tube. Do they also make this particular one because I couldn't find the exact model in their website except their RC Tubes.

The Academy Awards use Schoeps CCM's mounted on this:

http://www.schoeps.de/en/products/stv

Edit:

A simple Google search yields dozens of references, all citing Schoeps.

Try it sometime.

English is not my mother language and I couldn't find appropiate keywords for this. Now I know, 'microphone extension tube'.

Still, it doesn't look the same as in the video. This particular extention tube doesn't have swirl joints at its capsule side and seems not to have gooseneck too.

Probably a Schoeps as has been suggested.  They are commonly used for award shows like this.  Could also be a Neumann KM100 series with an SR 100 or other accessory.

Did your customer actually just send you that video and demand the same microphone?

It looks like it can be remotely adjusted for height - is that what they want?

Thanks. Never thought of Neumann before. They are the closest to the mic in the video.

Yes, they did. I already designed the hight adjusting mechanism and they also don't accept Audix Microbooms.

So they DEMAND a specific mic but can't tell you what it is?

The event had passed already with them had to accept Audix Microboom.

They first told me they don't like those goosenecks and mics of the Microbooms because it makes the top-most part of the boom too long and not elegant.

Finally, they had to accept reality and paid me extra for taking my time seeking for it. They even tried to encourage me to purchase a few more tubes from Neumann though. Lol
