90 degrees of 57
« on: August 01, 2015, 12:02:11 PM »

Just built a 90 degree SM57 from a $2 plumbing elbow and a beat up donor 57 from my mic cabinet. I think it looks really decadent and can't wait to try it out at a live gig in a few weeks. Does that make me crazy or just a normal soundguy?

Another vote for normal... whatever that is.  Is your normal measured against true ground potential?

Nonsence!

As a soundguy you are supposed to be exceptionally lazy and pay obnoxious amounts for ridiculous stuff.

Sound guys are cheap bastards to say the least. Ingenious use of PVC saving about $50 bucks on the ready made product. You've made me proud.

He's modded a mic stand with another 90 degree elbow, and he needs to correct for that with a bent mic....

I'm also thinking about doing this to an SM58 to keep singers from eating the mic.  :o
