The worst roof rattle I've ever heard
« on: July 05, 2015, 12:53:00 PM »

So we played a 4th celebration yesterday in Big Lake TX. Pretty normal city park/fairgrounds. Had the concrete stage with a metal roof.

This was the first time this event has been held. I don't think anyone has put a significant system on this stage before! Here's the video:

http://youtu.be/0giPDmHiTDc

It was so bad. The rattle was every bit as loud as the pa.

The city people we were dealing with were super cool and I suggested finding some tires to throw on the roof. They found about a dozen old tires and out them up there. It helped tremendously! The roof still rattled but it was greatly muted and did not "sustain" like it does in the video.

Show went smoothly and everyone was happy!

Loudest noise I can remember is when they moved a festival performance into a steel building because of approaching rain.  It hailed to (literally) beat the band.  Everyone was rolling on the ground with their hands over their ears.

Sounds like you implemented trailer park technology.  ;)

I'm imagining Evan and ATL in that situation, screaming female fans and all.

Haha. Yeah it is!

Also, that Hyena cackle is my monitor engineer. He's hitting the kick and got a serious case of the giggles!

So were you able to do anything about it. Sandbags maybe?

Yeah. Old tires. About a dozen were found and put up there. Helped a lot...

That was crazy.  Like someone said, almost like a plate reverb - with rattle.

What speakers are those?  Looked nice and very small height per cab.
