Celtic Thunder's broadcast sound
« on: March 25, 2011, 12:16:33 AM »

I've seen PBS broadcasts of two Celtic Thunder shows, and each time I found it hard to believe that they got their broadcast sound from the lapel mics that could be seen on the chest of each of the singers.  The voices were full and round, and when two of them were standing close together, I couldn't hear any interaction between the mics.  If the broadcast sound IS taken from the lapel mics, someone is really working some magic.  Does anyone here know the story behind the scenes?
