4mic + 4line x 4 zone mixer
« on: May 01, 2015, 07:38:50 PM »

I'm stumped.

Looking to solve a unique install project that requires:

4xMic input
4xSteteo line input
4xZone output

And the kicker - each zone must be able to get any combo of inputs (and must be able to have a stereo line AND a mic per output.

Must be simple to use.

A Cloud Z4 MK3 would be ideal if it had 4 mic ins.

Any ideas?

I'd probably use a BSS Blu-100 for that application.  Four more outputs than you're asking for, but nothing wrong with spare outputs.

Added: Unless you need stereo outputs, then it's sized exactly the way you need it.

dbx Zonepro 1260 (PC, front panel controllable or wall controls)

or

Ashly 24.24m with 2 input expansion cards (PC or wall controls only)

4 mic ins, lots of unbalanced line ins.
Or did you need 4 mic ins plus a dedicated mic input for each output?
in that case I would go to a solus16 http://www.symetrix.co/products/open-architecture-standalone-dsp/#solus
16x8 program it however you want.

both units can be controlled with the ARC-2 controller for easy UI, plus iphone or PC control

Ashly ne24.24m will do this, full retail on an 8x4 system is roughly $1700. All of there input cards have (4) mic pres, so they will accept mic or line level inputs.

Do the stereo line inputs need to be balanced?

If not, the dbx ZonePro 1260m would work.  It has 6 mic/line balanced inputs and 4 stereo unbalanced inputs.

Or the Ashly PEMA4125 has 8 inputs, each of which is balanced mic/line OR stereo unbalanced.  As an added bonus, the 4 outputs are 125 watt amplified, and can be had in 70v as well.  Or you can use the line outputs if you don't want/need the amplifier.
