Troubleshoot: Old Yamaha MC2404II no phantom power
« on: December 24, 2014, 02:29:46 PM »

Hi everybody,  hope this message is being posted in the proper location.  I have an old Yamaha MC2404II mixer that belonged to my dad.  He was a very active member of this board until he passed in 2011.  Anyways, I'm trying to get rid of some outdated gear like this mixer and I remember the phantom power becoming intermittent and then finally being absent entirely.  Tried replacing fuses from time to time but that could very well have been coincidence that it worked on occasion immediately following the swap.  Does anybody have any experience with this issue or can anybody suggest any possible solutions?  Thanks all, happy holidays!

This could be anything from a broken wire, bad connection or faulty component in the power supply. The problem calls for basic troubleshooting and repair from a qualified service technician.
