I doesn't matter from a protection point of view, but it sure matters as far as spectral balance.

Mac
I guess if you are using different amps with different gains.

Is it THAT hard to set the balance between different passbands??
I think so-after hearing many of the systems I have heard ;(

Agreed, that's why Mr. Wizard is part of the 260. Regardless though JBL and dbx update their files without much notice so it's always best to check for new settings once in a while. I own a 4800 and a pair of 260's. It really pisses me off that there are updates for the 260 but not for the 4800, a $4000 DSP. Does that make any sense?

There are only 2 specs that matter, maximum output, so you know you have enough power, and voltage gain. Of the 2 the one you adjust for is voltage gain. The RMX5050 has a gain of 36dB, the PL380 can be 29dB or 32dB. Set the PL380 for 32dB gain, and turn up the output of the dbx260 that feeds the pl380 by 4dB to get the same total gain.

Mac

Thanks Mac,

It shows -6.0 for qsc 5050 on tops, so set pl380 for -2.0 in dbx 260? Also, wizard used LR (linkwitz) on both sloped at 48, should i being using bw (butterworth) sloped at 18? Thanks
