I will only have diesel now.  We have a diesel Renault Kangoo which does 56 mpg.

Steve.

But can you pull a trailer full of sound gear with that?

Probably not.  Well, perhaps a small trailer.

I can get quite a lot in it though as it's a car based on a small van design.

Car version:

Van version:

With the rear seats folded down, it has almost as much load space as the van.

Is the 56 mpg based on Imperial gallons?  Mark C.

Wish I could get one here in the States. 56mpg in a vehicle that size would be awesome. Wouldn't be a quick and sporty as my Focus, but it haul more while getting almost twice the mileage.

Yes.  That's about 47 of your strangely smaller US gallons.

The Transit Connect is a strange one.  Traditionally, the Transit was always a larger panel van. It seems strange calling a car sized van a Transit.

I suppose the closest sized American van to what I would consider to be a Ford Transit is something like a Chevrolet G20 (I don't know if that's a current model but it's all I could find with a Google search!).

Well, yes.  Almost all of it is tax.  We can complain all we like but the government is going to get whatever tax they need out of us somehow.  If they took it off of fuel, it would be added to something else.  In my opinion, it makes sense to add it to environmentally damaging things like fuel.

I'm sure you managed to work out your own tax system since we allowed you to go off and be independent!

How far will that get you in an American car?  Almost twenty miles?!!

Steve.

I'm sure you meant to say "Since the colonies kicked England's ass and sent us home to mum.

And by the way, I stopped at a BP station for gas yesterday and the price was $2.86 per gallon. Isn't British Petroleum selling gas for the same price to the British people ?? Or maybe they don't want to get tossed out of the USA on their ass either. And that thing in the 40's. Does anyone in your family speak German? Want to keep going??
