Importing RF Explorer scans in Wireless Workbench 6 - WWB6
« on: October 30, 2014, 12:37:08 PM »

Hi everybody,

just wanted to share a tutorial I did while babysitting my newborn...

RF Explorer is nice little gadget (for the price) and serving WWB6 with scans makes it ever more useful...

File size and type restrictions won't allow me to post it here, but there's an English and Spanish version in the Wireless Workbench forum:

Cheers,

Very good tutorial.  Would You mind if I referenced it on my site as well?

I would love if you could send scans to me to add to my maps.  See the page for submission standards and be sure to include a short bio for yourself.  This is all free and just a coordinators info page for all to use.  so far in the USA we have almost 100 venues listed.  I am about to tour Australia and Europe and will add my scans there as well.  Here is a shot of the current map:

This is cool.

Looks like still another reason for me to pony up and buy a cheap windows machine.  Although i could probably make this work on my Mac too i suppose.

Sounds like a good project for tomorrow while i'm waiting for my daughter to get out of knee surgery.  :)

Hi Pete,

thank you very much for the compliment.

Please feel free to reference these tutorials on your site. I actually feel flattered! I found your own paper "RF Coordination for Roadies" a few years ago, and your site has been an enlightening source of education ever since.

I will definitely submit some scans...

Have a good tour! Say hi if you come by Barcelona!

Cheers,

Diogo

I noticed that  Ryan Stotts' scans imported easily into WWB6, but the rest did not; meant to mention it to you. Now I know how to fix it!

I guess you should be fine doing the same on a Mac.

I've never tried the RF Explorer client for Mac, but the Windows client runs fine on VM Ware!

Thanks Diogo, I have using a much more convoluted way of doing the same thing. This is much more efficient.

May the airwaves stay clear,

IAS does not care about the misc headers in the CSV files - for WB you need to edit them out and there are 5 sets throughout the file.  Possibly you need to change the decimal too.
