Hello:
This past September I provided the sound production for an outdoor festival. The festival ran from midday to 10:30pm.
I brought my (archaic) par38 (sixteen can) light rig to supplement other rented lighting gear.
Power was provided by a generator.
The promoter wanted a static stagewash which was easy enough but since I had all day (as acts; karate demo's, dance school routines, etc.) I decided to bring my Elation controller/dimmer packs and experiment.
The controller did not work.........it powered on and all of the lights on it went on/off as I adjusted the settings.
Since it was a stagewash setting it was no big deal, but it was discerning to me.
Last night I was in the shop and put the light rig back together and everything worked...same cables patched in the same series....
Was it the shaky power from the genny?
My sound rig uses Crown Itech and XTI amps thus they are used to varying wall power...it never skipped a beat.
Your thoughts?
