It's good to know your knots in this business.

Probably more useful than knowing you're nuts!

Steve.
I like being knotty (naughty).

A guy I worked with at camp years ago, who was in the Scoutcraft area (Cooking, Pioneering, Orienteering, etc) as his introduction each week at the Sunday night campfire: "I'm Scotty Too Knotty, and that's Knotty with a K!"

Who on here is an Eagle Scout?

Class of 1983, gold palm, OA Brotherhood, 25 years service, current unit committee chairman, district roundtable commissioner, district award of merit recipient, council day camp director, Philmont two-timer and always looking for the next opportunity to say, "yes." ;)

I'm resurrecting an Old thread--but I just had to chime in when I saw it.

I'm an Eagle Scout originally from Las Vegas , NV--55 Merit Badges earned, Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow. I attended both the 2001 National Scout Jamboree, as well  SPL for my group attending the Jamboree in 2005.

I Trekked Philmont Scout Ranch as well as Sailed out from Florida High Adventure Seabase.

I also have Several other 50 milers under my belt on foot & canoe.

I Directed the  Mountain bike area At Del Webb High Adventure Base for 3 seasons & did the same At Potosi Scout Camp for 2.

Some people wonder where all my unusual (true) stories & random knowledge  comes from--& I gotta give scouting the props--I  Also give scouting the credit for setting me on the right path growing up

Great to meet you fellow Eagles on here.

Cheers!

PS here's a pic of me in 2005 in Washington DC giving the head of he US Government Printing office a couple of Jamboree Council Sholder Patches.   I believe the pic is still up on their site lol.

That's a whole bunch of 50 milers, Isaiah.  That's probably what got you in shape to be in production. ;)

Cool looking Jambo patches, too.

I am also. Three days after I turned 16 in 1979. Was there Order of the Arrow and Palms back then?  I don't remember any of that.

I am still involved in Scouting, currently the assistant to the Scoutaster.

  Barry.
Barry, yes there was an Order of the Arrow.  I am an Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow and Lincoln Ranger.  I loved being a Scout and went with my best friend, also an Eagle Scout to Philmont in New Mexico.  All of this was about 1976 or so.  It was great.

Good work David. Definitely something to be proud of.

I just got one of those myself. :)

Paria Canyon was the most memorable--Its the worlds longest slot canyon.   I didnt do too much "extreme conditions" backpacking.
As I recall, I only had to strap on snowshoes for one trip.

The canoeing 50 miler was completed spanning a week in Ontario, Canada portaging our canoes inbetween several lakes.
