Mark..The amp is a stereo chorus, and i need to connect using both the insert cables to keep the quadraverb quiet as they were noisy units. This is the only way to do it...running it alongside a line 6 fx
Cheers...Steve

Just exactly WHICH model amp?  You need to provide COMPLETE information to get proper answers.

That said, your amp is almost surely a MONO amp with a built in "stereo chorus"...not a stereo amp.  If you want full stereo playback for your guitar, do like Bill Frisell and others who use two separate amps for the stereo.

Steve,
Post with the amp model and I'll tell you exactly how that effects unit should be connected. Other than that there little else to say other than out/in, out/in.

Have you tried asking on the Peavey forum...

This is a profession sound reinforcement forum so back line questions do not get  much support.

JR

yes. cheers

Each of your two insert cables will connect the same.

TRS 1/4" out/in from the FX loop jack, tip connector to the input of one Quadraverb channel, ring connector to the output of that same channel.  Duplicate this routing/connection for the other channel.

Done.

From the manual -

PREAMP OUT/POWER AMP IN (C)
A stereo Out/In jack provided for in-lin patching of effects devises for each of the two amplifiers. A shielded "Y" cord (Peavey Part #0005299) with a 1/4" stereo phone plug (ring, tip and sleeve) branching into two 1/4" mono phone plugs is required for this connection (insert fully). The "tip" of the stereo plug routes the signal to effects device input. The effects device output is returned through the "ring". The "sleeve" is ground. The first click of this stereo jack can be used as a preamp output without disturbing the signal glow to the remainder of the system. NOTE: If the second click of the Out/In jack is utilized without returning any signal to the system from an effects devise, the preamp functions will be disabled.

The preamp level is approximately 1 volt RMS and is high impedance (600 ohms). Any effects device used in this effects loop must be capable of receiving 1 volt input and providing 1 volt output in order to properly drive the power amp.

So get 2 insert cords (Audiopile, Hosa make them). Insert the stereo end into the amp into 1 & 2. Plug the Grey/white cables into your Quadraverb's inputs, and the red/orange (red for return - nice) into the quadraverb's outputs. You may have to tweak your input and output levels, but this should give you nice stereo effects for your stereo amp.

good luck!
