You can collect the wax and make table candles.

Obligatory Mythbusters video....

This is one part of the episode; part 2 is missing on YouTube.

Here's another clip from the episode.

I was going to link the episode on Netflix but it seems Mythbusters is no longer on there.....

I'm sure the reason my hearing is still good is that my ears produce a lot of wax.

I had my ears syringed once and the result was great, although I think I probably got rid of most of the wax before it was done using drops of olive oil.

On the walk home, every step was accompanied by a 'boing' sound as there was obviously a bit of water left on the ear drum.

I had the syringing done as the wax buildup had become so great that it felt like someone was poking me in the ear with a sharp pencil.

On other less severe occasions, wax buidup has affected how I hear notes whilst playing.  One time playing bass, I would play one note but hear two different notes!

Perhaps if you suffer from cranial-rectal insertion.

With the new trend on medical over sharing I will have to take pictures of my cystoscopy at the Urologist next week and the colonoscopy I  got as a present from doc for passing 50.  Guessing the plumbing gets old.

...Things are much brighter.

But now you are out of ear-calibration with the rest of the audience, the mix will seem dull to them now.

I have never had this done before but I am going to keep a tab on things more now. I suggest everyone go to the clinic and get their ears cleaned. I can hear like never before. Things are much brighter. They basically took a syringe with warm water and flushed out the wax. Prior to that they had me use ear wax softener at home.  I couldn't believe it after what came out.

I'm anxious to get back to mixing now.
I first had my done about 20 years ago and it was quite the revelation.  If you don't let it build up too bad you can manage it without going to the doctor.  I'd suggest you give your ears and brain a couple of days to become accustomed to the newfound sensitivity before getting in front of a console again.  Otherwise, you may find yourself readjusting things for weeks trying to find "normal".

Actually I prefer it. I can hear transients like never before. Every time my key chain moves I smile. Im pretty anxious to mix I think things will only get better.
