So.... If you had to create this kind of look, what lights are you using?

They just look like c7 Christmas lights with globe bulbs to me.

G30 globes

They run about $.30 each incandescent and $1.25 for LED. A 500 foot reel of C7 can be had for about $150. But being as we are quickly approaching Christmas, they may be more.

cheap and quick is a mirrorball that doesn't spin...use a 6degree led pinspot...works great!

I suppose, if you aren't worried about spill and/or lighting the actors too. I guess that the exact effect would require trying it and seeing if you could make it work on the stage in question.  YMMV; I come from a proscenium arch theater background and focusing perspective. Mark C.

you can do it via lighting the rear of the scrim/cyc/backdrop...not rocket science...ive done it a few times...using a regular pinspot lamp wont give the starry type effect but a single point LED works great!...and you only light the mirrorball on one side...

Thank you. I see there are a number of ways that the effect could be created, depending on the hanging/mounting points, light sources, and soft goods available. Mark C.
