Mixing on an iPad, best case?
« on: August 28, 2014, 10:29:02 PM »

I've searched, I've googled, but I recently did my first gig mixing solely from an iPad, and something happened that i did not expect:  my left hand started to cramp!  I'm right handed, so naturally i was wandering the room with the iPad in my left hand in a portrait type of position, adjusting and tweaking with my right hand.  I ended up switching back and fourth as each hand got sore, but mixing with my left hand was not as easy as I would have liked.

I've seen some cases out there that have straps on the back for your hand to slide under, but I figured someone here must have run into this by now and have some suggestions/recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

Buy a good case such as an Otter. Not only will you have protection but a hand stand that angles your Ipad when put on a table, etc.. Or, find out what the NFL is using and buy one of those.

I did a gig for Otis Elevator once. Like every job, it had it's ups and downs.

Search on iPad handle.   All kinds of options.

Just found this to be a problem myself. My biggest issue is being able to hold the iPad to mix the sound and my iPad mini for wireless lighting. I started to use a solid back music stand - both fit great !!

You also need to add a drink holder to your iPad

Belkin grip360 is one to look at.
Haven't used it, I use an otterbox minus the screen protector, had trouble getting stylus to work properly through it.

I upgraded (?) to an IPad Air. Much lighter.

Worked for me.

Yep!  Love the Otter case.
