Replacing speakers???
« on: August 19, 2014, 09:53:55 PM »

Hi Folks,

Looking for some advice from a business perspective rather than a gear perspective. I currently own speakers that I am very happy with. They are a few years old but still outperform all of the current sub 2k cabinets that are out right now. My current predicament is that I am looking to expand with more cabinets but the ones I currently use have increased in price to a level I can't justify purchasing and they are also on the heavier side which is getting to be more noticeable to me at the end of the night and in my older age.
I have purchased some new cabinets which are great sounding when not A/B'd to my current ones. I am debating on whether I should sell my current system to help fund more of the newer boxes. It will be a difference in sound quality that I NOTICE but my audiences would not a majority of the time. It would also possibly allow me to get into a good amount of new cabinets and refresh my system overall.  I guess it's somewhat of a no brainer as I really can't afford to add more of my current cabinets to my inventory but I would like to hear some thoughts from others on the board.

I learned something a long time ago.  When you find something you like, don't ever do a direct comparison with anything.  Just be happy with it.  If you're trying to find improvements then compare all you want.

Good advice.  Nice avatar by the way.
