I always take those damn ugly things off. Who cares about the little badges...it what it sounds like that matters

Venues and patrons notice those little badges.  Not a single one noticed/commented when I upgraded from TR/SF to Mpro to SR to SRX.  I got just as many compliments running SF and there's a lot of SF around here both in bands and installs.

Samuel, my location is proudly displayed <<< over there below Taylor's butt.  Basically, BFE.  Tiny market.

All of my SRX came with the badge. It's designed to be removed, and once removed the JBL is cut into the grill. I bleed orange, so I leave them on. Don't throw away the badges though, people will pay upwards of $30ea. for them on ebay.

I guess those speakers do sound better with the badges on.

Yes, the badges are specifically designed with a bit of a bevel that helps even out the sound and make it that much better.  When you take the badge off, it still sounds ok, but not quite as awesome.

It's a "market-based equalizer."  When seen by the public or less discriminating musicians/soundfolk  the JRX sounds the same as the SRX.

Heck, Peavey badges fetch real money on FleaBay, too.  Behringer, Harbinger, B-52... not so much :)

Does this have something to do with when they were made?  Or is there a different reason some have it and some don't?

4 725 all facing forward..Comb city!

Two of mine have badges, two do not. I don't really care.

I'm pretty used to seeing badges  or logos on everything in life so it makes no difference to me. I'd rather have the badges on the cabs  than not just so they don't get lost.  Not sure how easily they come off - never removed one.
