Phase/Polarity Check of Nexo Line Array - install
« on: August 09, 2014, 08:09:13 PM »

We were doing a polarity check with a Goldline APT2/APT2B units and were getting some strange readings with the polarity lights, red and green as we moved through the 6 box hang. Some were in polarity/phase and others as we moved the unit from box to box and aimed down the throat of each driver some we got green, some red ?

Could there have been polarity issues between the HF and LF drivers ? in the design of the boxes ? or were we seeing polarity wiring issues?

Some times as a result of other drivers in the array, or boundary reflections you can get some strange results using a polarity checker. If your results don't seem correct, I would check the 12" and horn separately and each box one at a time without any signal to the other boxes in the array.

The 12' and horn may have a different polarity, but the relative results from all the boxes should be the same.

If your speakers check out, I would check your speaker to speaker link cables with an electrical cable tester.
