Looking for the brand/brands of a type of headphone amp
« on: October 02, 2014, 04:46:31 AM »

So my Worship leader asked me to find him some headphone amps that he saw while he was playing out and I have heard of it but never seen it as well as not knowing who all makes it.

He described it as looking like a DI having 1 input with 4 outputs. If anyone could let me know this would be great. I'd look around but have no idea who makes headphone amps apart from*ehriger since I find theirs works quite fine.

Sounds like a Presonus HP4.  I have one at church and one in my daughters computer rig...it also works well for controlling volume of desktop powered monitors.

If you want a reliable, easy to operate pro headphone amp with lots of clean volume, look at the Rane HC 6S.  Not a lot of buttons and knobs to screw things up, just a straight gain path with a volume control.  Sound great, goes loud (obscenely loud with most headphones), I keep the volume around 2 for live band tracking

I went through several different headphone amps before buying the Rane, which I expect will still be doing its job when I die.

Each headphone amp can have its own mix, or you can use it as a splitter.
