Clay Paky Light Fixtures - Opinion/Feedback
« on: July 19, 2014, 04:13:18 AM »

Can you provide any feedback on any of the below fixtures:

+ Alpha Spot QWO 800
+ Alpha Spot HPE 700
+ A.Leda B-Eye
+ Golden Scan 4
+ Glow-Up

I.e.

- Is the QWO 800 significantly better than the HPE 700?
- LED B-Eye an innovation?
- Is a scanner like the Golden Scan still economical?
- Are the Glow-Ups worth their price?
- How does Clay Paky compare to Martin, Robe, Philips fixtures?
- Any experience with "Hands On" lighting software?
- General experiences, feedback, reviews, pictures?

I.e.

- Is the QWO 800 significantly better than the HPE 700? Yes the QWO is closer to the output of a 1000w fixture , the HPE 700 is basically a smaller Mac 700. Most people still prefer MAC 700, especially in corporate use.

- LED B-Eye an innovation? YES! Its becoming a very popular fixture.

- Is a scanner like the Golden Scan still economical? NO...NO...and NO

- Are the Glow-Ups worth their price? If your doing high end events they have a really nice look to them and would be worth it. If your just uplighting proms there are less expensive solutions.

- How does Clay Paky compare to Martin, Robe, Philips fixtures? Pretty equal. Most of my inventory is Martin and Philips, but I often rent in Clay Pay fixtures and have been very happy with them.

- Any experience with "Hands On" lighting software? No

- General experiences, feedback, reviews, pictures?
For the price I really like the Sharpy WASH. Theres not much that compares to it in terms of size and price. For a CMY based fixture the colors are really nice. The reds and ambers are much nicer then a MAC 700 wash.
