Sennheiser EW D1 with MMK 965 head?
« on: June 18, 2015, 02:51:25 AM »

Hello everyone!

I have recently bought a Sennheiser EW D1 with the 835 for my presentations, it has been great. However, I had also the ew 500 G3, so I used the 965 head and put it on the EW D1 transmitter. The specs of the D1 say that it's compatible, but to my surprise, it does get recognized by the receiver but it receives kind of a loud interference noise (kind of a continuos high pitched sound) and it's current unusable.

If someone has this combination, could you please tell me if it worked for you?
Or if you tried an incompatible head with a Sennheiser transmitter what was the result.

I want to discard having a faulty unit (but the 835 works great with the D1, and both heads work correctly with the ew 500, it's just the 965 with D1 that has issues), I'm thinking that probably it isn't compatible yet, and probably on a later firmware it will be. (But they shouldn't announce it like that, or at least put a note about it).

I contacted Sennheiser support (they say they'll take my question to the Advanced Applications Engineering Team) but I'm still awaiting word from them.

Thank you in advance!
