Why do we call some cranes EOT cranes?

EOT = electric overhead travelling crane

vs something like a JIB or HOT (hoist; one track) crane

Haha. Yeah, well, I didn't know the answer to the EOT question (thanks, James, for being smart. :) ) but knowing that the moderators will punch in with the lock thread action if the display name wasn't correct, and in this case, the name lacks a space to indicate a first/last name clearly there... I'm not certain I am the only one who would wonder that.

I'm sorry if you felt that I wouldn't have otherwise helped out the OP, but at the same time, the rules of participation are pretty darn clear, and in place for a reason.

On the Rachael Maddow show, they used to have (they may still have it-- not listened to it in a long time.) "Ask Dr. Maddow," ostensibly where the actual-Dr. Maddow (doctorate in politics, though) answers questions that you wouldn't know the answer to... For a bit, the lead in to it was "Ask Dr. Maddow, where we answer the questions you're too lazy to Google yourself."
