Fender Family Friday Portrait
« on: May 16, 2014, 11:55:29 AM »

All - just thought I would share a family picture that's been 14 years in the making - clockwise from top left
1965 Fender Showman, rebuilt by the most knowledgeable Fender guy I know around here…
1965 Fender Bandmaster, in JD Newell 2x12 combo cab
1974 Fender Princeton
1965 Fender Tremolux
1977 Fender Princeton Reverb. Blackface faceplate was due to the original being so scratched it was fugly, but happily tell people this is one of the dreaded pull-boost models.

All 5 get regular use; we had the 3 big ones at a gig last Saturday for the band and my daughter uses the Princeton Reverb as a practice amp.

Hopefully, the family expands in the next couple of years to include a Deluxe Reverb, a Reverb tank, and a few other goodies…

Enjoy your Friday and weekend!

I did a gig for Otis Elevator once. Like every job, it had it's ups and downs.

Bob - since you are the most knowledgeable Fender Guy I know referenced above, of course. I'm sure this pic would have good company with your others.

I do need to get a correct Fender logo for the Showman cabinet and re-do the grill cloth, as it is wavy and slightly loose in a few places. The Tremolux grille came pre-done from Mojo on the new baffle, since the previous owner had sawzalled the particle board to "fit" 2x12's...

In the daylight I'm now noticing the Princeton's grill cloth is a little dingy - what do you use to clean them?

Change the Pricetons' output coupling caps from .1 to .01.  It gives you more level with better tone by taking out the power-sucking and useless low end.
