If you can get 10'-15' between the cabinets you shouldn't have any issues. Try to get 10' from mic to backline with the PA outside the backline and outside the mics.

The link I posted is for Roland's portable bass amp.

At the risk of confusing this with physics, it takes a lot more power to make loud LF than midrange sound. I hate to suggest this but maybe adding some of faux bass (distortion) can make it seem like there is more low bass than really there.

PS: You are not confusing the driver bottoming for rattle? Driver bottoming is a loud "snap" like sound, unlike amplifier overload, or mechanical rattles.

No, the Taxi amp even when  plugged in to an AC source is not capable of bottoming the Eminence bass speaker Bob B is using, at any frequency.

I have not heard the Crate Taxi, but the distortion heard from other Crate amps once they hit hard clip has been truly horrible, and can sound like speaker problems.

Thanks. I'll position them just like that. We looked at the Microcube, but it's just not as loud as the Taxi Limo.

I'm pretty sure it was the circuit boards rattling. I wrapped them in foam and it stopped the rattle. Thanks.

Without knowing exactly how you wrapped them, circuit boards can get hot and foam can burn, some of it toxically even if just heated enough.  Something to think about.

Nice mixer on it and they get good reviews but I built a DIY bass bin with four 10" drivers and   2050 chip amp for half of  the cost of  the Rolland.  For "real" bass beats you will need a large efficient cabs, how much speaker can you pack?
