Has anyone seen any alternative to the Da-Lite style fast fold frame/screen system for portable rear projection?

I thought i had something with Vuetec and their Retracta Vu system, but after talking to them the rear projection option is discontinued.

We use draper stage screen for our larger screens and it is modular which is alway nice for smaller screens.

Hmmm yea, was hoping to find something like the vue tech where it wasn't a frame with screen pinned on. More of a pull up from the floor design but rear projection.

You could make your own. Take a standard manual screen (rear project surface), mount it upside down in a box. Bolt a couple of vertical posts on hinges behind the screen and modify the bottom (now top) bar of the screen to accept pins from the vertical posts. Raise screen, swing up posts, insert into pin, done.
Stability would be an issue, so you may need to add a couple of 'outrigger' bars to the vertical posts.
You may need to remove the brake from the screen for it to work inverted.
