yeah, took me a minute too and then I figured it out......

I thought about doing an AF joke at my 'day job' some years ago, but realised that no one would have figured it out and then it would have ended badly. lol.

I have one of the kits, but I'm waiting for the microscope to arrive. I used to love to build Heathkits. I built an RDF for my boat back in the 70's. Left Pensacola harbor for a day of fishing and ended up in Ohio.

Guess it's time to go over to Canadian Tire and get a new tip for my Weller 200 watt soldering gun. I still have half a pound of lead core solder left over from plumbing the basement 25 years ago...
Will this new fangled micro thingy properly drive my BelchFire (driving a stack of A-7's) ??

Ya, Whatever. Just throw a '57 on it, and get off my stage.

+1 on the Weller and lead solder. Here's a tip though. Find some asbestos cloth and cut it into a 2'x2' square for the top of your bench so the solder drops won't stick to the lead paint. And be sure to take an air gun and blow off the asbestos after you cut it so it doesn't mess up your projects.

For the residual flux, you might be able to clean it off with carbon tetrachloride.
