That was quite an obituary!  Sometimes my wife and I get called "heroes" when people find out we're both Air Force retirees.  I find this embarrassing (I usually mumble something like, "Thanks, it was an honor to serve"), since I never heard a shot fired in anger in my 23 year career.  When comes to heroes, your dad is the real deal for his contributions both on and off the battlefield.  Bless you, Helen and your daughters for being there for him!

What a wonderful tribute to a great man and Father, Bob. He's got to be proud of and grateful for your thoughts. You have all the condolences I can muster for this time.

I'm certain it's especially poignant for those of us that have lost parents. It certainly is for me, even eight years later.

I sincerely hope the memories of having him with you carry you through this time of grief and sadness, as well as the celebration of his life.

The very best to you and yours, Bob. God bless and keep you and your family.

Bob, so sorry to hear about your Father, he sounds like a wonderful man and obviously made you proud of him, probably the best legacy one could leave.  I've recently come to appreciate having a spouse who is a wonderful caregiver and the personal sacrifice associated with that, your wife deserves all possible kudos for her efforts.
