Mother Nature takes down another music concert....
« on: March 13, 2014, 04:11:37 AM »

A loss of life for an Entertainment Technician in Thailand while working on the trussing structure for a MTV Exit concert. A highly capable company using only the best gear for the structure from Total Fabrications and Milos. A little past midnight when riggers were up on top working hanging PA and Lighting. This time of the year, wind storms are very active with one min calm and the next min, 35-45MPH winds. No need to say more

RIP to the family of the loss Technician... He was a young father, Husband and Son..

We live a world where the number one thing is safety. We have seen so many dodgy things happen at all the music festivals and concerts. Please work and build our stages correctly. Do not try to meet impossible deadlines set by clients. This is a direct result of clients cutting budgets and vendors saving costs so they can actually make some profit. My heart and prays goes to the fallen technician that lost his life when the rooftop structure collapsed.....RIP krup. All in all, its only a show, its not worth loosing a life for it. Please pray to the team still on location rebuilding the staging and structure. It could be any company even with good equipment and not the cheap stuff from China. Its negligence that killed the technician not the gear.......... We need better training of technicians with proper safety gear....I know its a pain in the ass to put on a safety harness and helmet but it will save your life one of these day. OSHA cant be everywhere...
