Saw this on my Facebook today.  Not sure is this really helps anything, but I guess it's nice they're trying.

We have special valet services in Boston. Park anything and when the gig is done go to the impound lot to pick it up.

I did a gig for Otis Elevator once. Like every job, it had it's ups and downs.

Neat idea.

I was sure I was going to see an embedded jpeg of a bike rack when I opened this thread, though.

It's a wonderful gesture for MUSICIANS, since a guitarist can easily unload his/her Twin Reverb and axe within the specified 15 minutes.  Sound providers, on the other hand...

Sound providers and drummers... Since you're talking about non-musicians...

The trick in Boston used to be to leave drum sticks on your dash. The meter maids wouldn't write a ticket because they figured the car belonged to a drummer, and what sense did it make to write the ticket for someone who can't read, and who wouldn't have the money to pay the fine.

I understand in LA they have single-use vehicles. Drive it off the lot, park it, never see it again.

On Sixth Street in Austin, far outside lane on each side (it's a one-way street) has signs designated for Musician Loading and Unloading. Makes it legal to stop your vehicle in front of your club just long enough for load-in/out. It's much harder during events like SXSW, where they block off the street to vehicles; you gotta convince a cop that he should let you in, then you gotta worm your way through the pedestrian crowds.

Or drive drunkenly into mopeds and pedestrians...
