360 Systems Intant Replay Software update
« on: February 24, 2014, 02:03:38 PM »

So, I have an older Instant Replay model# DR-554-24. It has the 2.0 software which doesn't have head and tail trim edit functions. Which for me almost makes it useless. I called 360 Systems and they told me I'm S.O.L. So, I'm wondering if anyone on here can or knows someone who can update the software on these older machines.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Paul

Why do you think 360 is lying to you about the fact that it can't be updated?

I don't think Paul said that they lied to him, just that they informed them it's not something they currently support. Perhaps someone on here has cables/software/experience updating this unit? Or maybe that just isn't possible on that machine.

You probably need a ROM chip with the new firmware. Not an easy thing to obtain anymore.

I don't think 360 Systems lied to me. I believe that they don't have what they need to update the software anymore. But that doesn't mean someone else doesn't. I know I'm reaching. I'm just trying to recover from what may turn out to be a bad ebay buy. It was my mistake for not checking the software version before I bought it.

Scott, I believe you are correct about the ROM chip.

The 2.0 version IRs do not support some of the edit functions, and AFAIK there is no way to change that. Earlier machines cannot be upgraded to 2.0, and 2.0 machines cannot be downgraded.
