Ultimate Support TS-90B + TS-100B
« on: February 23, 2014, 02:30:14 PM »

Hi all,

So I just bought a pair of Ultimate Support TS-100B stands for my 100 pound mains and really like them so far.  The air assist really helps with the lift which has been something I've struggled with when using these speakers on the TS-90B model.  I got a curious idea though - even with the air assist my speakers still want to settle back down (which I fully expected).  I like the anti lowering mechanism on the TS-90s which I still use for my smaller speakers, so has anyone attempted to mesh the two stands together?  Keep the air assist from the TS-100s and the anti lowering mechanism from the 90s to get the best of both stands?  My initial thought would be that this would work while the stand is under load but that the break/lock from the 90 wouldn't be strong enough to keep the stand from extending when not in use.  Any comments on this before I dismantle a few stands to give it a try?

Thanks,
-Jeff
