I think it has something -- well, I know it has something to do with the number of posts you've made. However, Tim, have you made that many posts on THIS board, or were some carried over from the old forums? I think for special people, old post counts were carried over. But I cannot fathom that I would have made more posts then you have on the new forums. So, there's got to be a setting (Mac, Doug, Tom?) that dictates the behaviour.

And mine appear as yellow boxes, not stars.  ?!?

... and if they're awarded for being a nice person, how come I have so many?!? Haha.

I see stars  :o

Those who are members of a user group, such as SR Forums, only get one yellow block. And you achieve Hero Status at 500 posts, I believe.

And those of us who use the Curve theme see the blocks instead of stars. I forget why the Curve theme  was added, but it seems to look nicer than the default.

I went back to the LAB Archives to see what my post count was when The Powers That Be changed the forum software, and I find myself to be a newb with 0 posts.  Even though I was reading my posts...

I now believe the Firesign Theater was right, it is possible to be Two Places at Once, While Being Nowhere At All.

As for yellow boxes, I see stars.  Might be a browser or CSS issue.

Same story here.  I have been a lab member since the 90's but became a newb with the software change.  I see that I have 5 stars but i have no idea what that means!

As far as I can tell..... It's the number of posts you have made. I hit "Sr Member" and 4 stars (BLOCKS! I SEE BLOCKS!) at 250 posts, which is what Debbie just reached. I *believe* that I will attain "Hero Member" status and 5 stars (BLOCKS!!! THERE... ARE... FOUR... BLOCKS!) at 500 posts. (I don't remember where the previous amounts changed, but probably 50 and 150?) Justice pointed out that certain members (the cool kids?!? Haha.) are in the SR Forums User Group, and get one star/block/whatever regardless of number of posts.

Gosh, maybe this needs to be a sticky soon. Haha.
