We are finally installing a power sequencer on our audio system and I have a question concerning leaving an power amplifier on without having a speaker connected. We use three Mackie FR series amplifiers, one goes to the mains, one goes to the monitors and one is used only on special occasions when we are sending a feed to another room. We currently only turn on the amps that we need when we go through our normal cycle on but, with a sequencer installed I would like to leave all the amps on and let the sequencer handle powering them on and off. The problem is that the only the mains always have a speaker connected as we only bring out the monitors as needed and the other set of speakers are stored when we are not using them. I have heard that it is safe to have a solid state amp powered on without having a load attached to them but, I would just like to confirm this.
Thanks,
