Nice packaging for switches
« on: December 29, 2016, 05:33:51 PM »

Does anyone have any experience with the tmb Proplex GBS switches? They have a lot of attractive features for audio networks, or Clear Com HelixNet comm systems.

The 10 port with fiber in the back along with 2 or 4 EtherCons, and 6 or 7 EtherCons in the front would be slick.

The little 6 port with POE would be a great throw down switch for distributing HelixNet with the new packs that have EtherCon connectors.

I hope they don't cost as much as Pathport Via12s or Yamaha SW1s. I have a pricing request in.

I don't know pricing, but given I spend a fair amount of time in lighting land, I would think the tmb offerings are going to be pretty close in line to the path port....

These were also recommended to me by someone at Yamaha, about a month before theirs came out.

The project I was working on was put on hold, so I did not pursue pricing.

First pair of switches we bought for Dante, no complaints other than they're really seriously deep compared to most audio gear.  They may have changed since, but ours turned out to contain Cisco SG300 guts.

Chauvet has an unmanaged switch....  ethercon only.  Sub $1k.  Could be good for endpoints in racks maybe?

Check out Luxul.  I don't remember if any have Ethercon, but they worked well for Dante, IT, and HD video over IP.
