New EV series at NAMM 2014... EV ETX series
« on: January 17, 2014, 10:34:26 AM »

I was hoping for units that upped the ante on the ZXA5's but looks like EV wants to put a lock on the mid-grade market with their new ETX series:  http://www.electrovoice.com/pressrelease.php?id=1587

They look nice, have a 3-way in the lineup + feature DSP controls.  Hopefully, the exterior will be tougher and more chip resistant than the ELX's were.

We were discussing these in the LAB Lite forum, I'm definitely quite interested in these.  My local dealer said he listened to them and the three-ways sounded awesome.  I'm just curious if they actually tri-amp them, or if they are just bi-amped with a passive crossover on the hi/mid section like my KW153's are.  I'd love to put a rig of 4 ETX35P's and 8 ETX18SP's together for my band work, and it may suffice for DJ work if I get back into it.  Plus, it's scalable as I need it.
