Transporting a Mackie Onyx 24:4 on its side?
« on: January 07, 2014, 03:16:45 AM »

I have my first "real" small tour coming up in a couple of weeks which will involve about 1000km+ of driving  (small by many standards I know).  To fit the whole PA in the available truck, I have to put the desk (in a flight case) on its side, fader side down.  Should there be any reason to be worried about transporting that desk in that orientation for a length of time?
I have seen plenty of top-end desks transported on their side, but they usually have external power supplies.  I'm worried that having the desk on its side for a long period of time will stress the connections to the internal power supply.

Cheers
