Fader calibration on Soundcraft Expression
« on: December 10, 2013, 06:14:34 PM »

Just unboxed a Soundcraft Expression 3. Reflashed to the latest firmware. Immediately see that the faders need calibrated but can't find any mention of it in the manual. Anyone with experience on how to?

That would be a new one on me. You're the first person I have heard of with this problem. What makes you think they need calibration?

I don't know of a way. Call Soundcraft, they are pretty responsive.

At dead bottom, faders are not always aligned to each other. Not off by much, but off.

Reply from Soundcraft is that there is not calibration procedure.

Are the recalled faders that are not at the absolute bottom travel fully attenuated?

In other words, if you set a fader at minimum and then switch to a different mix, then return to the original mix is the signal at minimum (e.g., the fader is not physically at minimum but is logically at minimum)?  This would be hard to determine without some test equipment if it is only off by a little bit.
