Apogee AE5 processor
« on: January 24, 2014, 05:52:39 PM »

Didn't find anything on search so here I am. I have an opportunity to pick up a pair of AE5's at a silly cheap price. I understand that without the processor, they are not very pleasant sounding. How many different models of Apogee processors can the AE5's be used with? Only one maybe?

If I am recalling correctly the original analogue versions were the PA-500 and were available as a single channel install (PA-500 PVS), dual channel install (PA-500 PVD), dual channel road version (PA-500 RV).  All provided for audio processing with active monitoring of the amplifiers output.
The current digital processor is the DLC24.

I have two pairs of AE5 and two PA-500 processors. I seldom use the processors now as they are a complete PIA to set up. I just cross the speakers at 1200hZ and they sound fine.
