Working a show yesterday in a college performing arts facility and had pretty much a complete failure in connecting the iPad to the router to run StageMix. I noticed there were at at least a dozen facility wifi networks operating, some unsecured, most secured. I don't know whether these were operating at 2.4 or 5GHz. I was using a D-Link DIR 815 running at 5HGz, disabled SSID broadcast, WPA2. Placing the iPad within two feet of the router, at best the iPad would stay connected for about two minutes, and then would lose the connection.
I've run this same iPad and router configuration in many other places, indoors and outdoors, some with more wifi networks operating nearby, with no connectivity issues. Testing the router and iPad combination this morning and it connected immediately and has remained solid.
So, two questions: what could have caused the connectivity problem, even when is such close proximity? More to the point, any suggestions on what I can do?
