Trying to determine my brandless speaker's wattage
« on: August 02, 2013, 06:39:22 PM »

Hello everyone... this is my first post, and it's a doozy.

I got these second-hand brand-less speakers years ago, and I need to calculate the wattage.

Each loudspeaker has one Pyle MH1560 woofer at 115Watts, and two Pyle H3910 tweeters that are 80Watts a piece.

I'm assuming I can't just add up the watts.

I also don't know the passive crossover frequency, but the woofers are 50 - 5k, and the tweeters are 80 - 2.5Khz

I feel like this is a pretty tough question, especially because of the crossover, but I would really appreciate at least some advice on figuring out my mystery speakers.

Thanks a bunch.

15" driver, 2" voice coil, 8ohms, rated at 115 watts, cost $77. These are the only specs I could find. In that case, and if the cabinet were mine, I would treat the rating as 50 to 100 watts long term. By the way, the 15" driver was designed for MI use, not pro sound.
