Ethernet switch with Sennheiser WSM & EWSR300IEMG3
« on: March 18, 2013, 11:03:13 am »

Hello Forum,
Does anyone know what kind of ethernet switch works best with the Sennheiser WSM software and an IEM system made up of 8 transmitters?
This NET1 of Sennheiser's is discontinued, I think, and way too expensive anyway.
Is all that is needed a simple Ethernet switch?
thanks for any help / guidance you can offer.

I can't speak to the IEM specifically, but I use the 300 G3 wireless mics and they work fine with WSM using a cheap NetGear 5 port switch from WalMart. Mine is a gigabit switch, but I don't know if that is necessary, it's just what was available. I've put 4 mics in the rack, stuck the switch to the inside of the rack with the provided 2xsided tape, and wired the 5th port to a panel mount jack on the back of the rack.
