What are the differences between QSC's CX, PLX, and Powerlight (2,3) series amplifiers?  (other than the I/O connections)

I was once told that the QSC CX (install) series amplifiers did not have the "power reservoir" that the Powerlight amplifiers do.  Does anyone know if this is true?

A quick perusal of the PSW forums and QSC's forums/faq yielded no answer to this question.  If it has been answered elsewhere, feel free to link.

For years I have been using a CX302 to power the horns of my QRx 115's and a PL236 for the lows.  I have noticed lots of CX amps on eBay for cheap and was wondering if the higher powered models would work as well as the Powerlight's to drive lows & subs.

As far as I know, they just use a lighter pressed steel chassis which doesn't hold up as well on the road. They are basically plx amps in different sizes.

They're really almost the same amp... I believe all 3 are class 3 amplifiers

PL Series is a touring amp with "data" control options via a computer. It also has adjustable gain sensitivity setting.

PLX is the little brother to the PL without the "data" control input

CX is the installed version of the above with barrier strip outputs and "data" port for Qsys control.

There may be other differences but that's what I have always been told.

Not sure at all what the difference between the PL, PL2 & PL3 amps are though.
