Just heard on the BBC news that Kevin Ayers, founder member of Soft Machine, and according to John Peel ((BBC DJ), possessor of a wit 'so sharp you could perform major eye surgery with it' has died at his home in Montolieu, France aged 68. He will be sadly missed.
