So I am about to get 4 qrx212 to replace the ef508's, the subs are 4 srx728s.

The amps available are as follow :
2 plx3402
2 pl4.0
1 pl1.8
2 ap4040

I was thinking of selling the ap4040, use the plx3402 in st to power the qrx and send 1600w per 728 cab. The PLx for the tops and the PL4.0 for the subs ...

I have this feeling that the subs will be underpowered compared to the qrx.

 Does it make sens ? I am also planing in getting an other 1.8 and biamp the tops later on ...

The ap4040 use to power up the yorkies,

i will use dr260 and planning on building 2 set of amp racks so I can split the rig in two

Any advice is welcome,

I use a pair of PLX3402s and a PLX1602 to run 4 QRX212 biamped. You could use the PL1.8 for the HF. Remember that the LF is 4 ohms and the HF is 8 ohms.
So, one LF per channel of the 3402s and 2 HF per channel on the 1.8 should be a good balance. The DR260 will do it great.

adding another PL1.8 will let you split to 2 amp racks.

Upgrading the sub amps to PL380s (or as I have, PL6.0) will work great.

Tanks Rob ! I Will get à second 1.8 and see for the lows ... Or until someone is sell g a second pair of plx3402, than I can switch them with the tops and put proper limiting figures.
